August 12 — Total Solar Eclipse in Leo

Theme: Identity reset, visibility, creative self-expression, releasing performance

Energy insight: “You do not have to perform who you are when you finally feel secure enough to be who you are.”

This is arguably the defining astrological event of August. The Solar Eclipse occurs in Leo near the South Node, making this less about accumulating more attention and more about releasing outdated ways of seeking it. Astrologically, South Node eclipses are associated with clearing, endings, and shedding excess. In Leo, the material being released revolves around ego, recognition, creative identity, leadership, pride, and our relationship with being seen.

There is an important distinction here. Leo is not inherently attention-seeking; healthy Leo represents the confidence to express what genuinely comes from the heart. The eclipse can therefore expose where authentic expression has quietly turned into performance. You may recognize that you have been presenting a version of yourself because it receives approval, maintaining a role because people expect it from you, or measuring your value through attention.

Real-life integration:
Pay attention to situations where you suddenly feel tired of proving yourself. You may want to change how you show up publicly, creatively, romantically, or professionally. Instead of immediately constructing a new identity, create space for the old one to fall away.

Do:
✔ Notice where you are performing instead of expressing yourself.
✔ Make room for creative desires that exist even without applause.
✔ Release roles that require you to constantly prove your value.

Don’t:
✘ Chase attention because you feel temporarily unseen.
✘ Make every identity shift into a dramatic public declaration.
✘ Confuse external recognition with genuine self-worth.
